Fire Patrol on Holiday Weekend

It would be nice if we in the gorge community could make it a habit to check for campfires abandoned on Sunday afternoons.  Especially on three day weekends, these ticking time bombs are frequently seen at popular sites.

 

Finally a practical use for these hard hats! Hats and trash bottles were filled at a nearby spring and used to extinguish an abandoned campfire still blazing at a roadside campsite today on the Kistler highway.
