More work on Babel Tower today as a crew built a stone wall to support the trail.  Erosion in this area is rampant, but the new wall will help keep hikers on track.

One of the first rules of rock work: if one person can pick up the rock, it’s too small for use on the trail. This team took the other extreme, and chose rocks that will withstand the heavy traffic seen at this popular site.

Rocks that are too small are pounded into gravel to fill the spaces around the large wall stones.
