Chinquapins look a lot like chestnut trees. One of the quick ways to tell the difference is to look at the underside of the leaves. Chinquapin leaves are fuzzy and lighter green underneath. Chestnut leaves are similarly shaped but hairless, and the same color on top and bottom. (Photo: Jon)
