SAWS Digs Drains on Hawksbill Ascent

posted in: Trail Work | 0

Volunteers joined staff from Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards (SAWS) today to help put in erosion control measures on the infamous final ascent of the Hawksbill Trail.  The berm is so high there it’s hard to get anything done, but wherever possible they moved an amazing amount of dirt to help get water off the trail.  If you’ve ever been caught on Hawksbill in the rain you know how badly this work was needed.  Thank you SAWS and company!
